CMM's Church Planter Assessment Process helps planter candidates discern readiness for starting a new GCI church. Following are the steps in the process (and click here for a map).
Step 1: Initial contact
The candidate completes Are You a Church Planter?, a self-assessment questionnaire that gives immediate feedback concerning church planting interest and skill. If the candidate remains interested, they go to step 2.
Step 2: Pre-assessment
The candidate contacts CMM to initiate a pre-assessment interview, then completes these assignments:
Keirsey and DiSC personality assessments (forward results to CMM).
Send CMM a digital recording of a sermon or Bible study.
If applicable, provide CMM with confirmation of immigration status.
Step 3: Assessment Interview
CMM invites the candidate and the candidate's spouse to participate in a Church Planter Assessment
Interview. The interview is conducted by a team of GCI certified assessors at a location agreeable to the candidate and the team. The candidate covers personal expenses and pays CMM a $300.00 fee at the interview.
The purpose of the interview is to determine if the candidate is: 1) likely to succeed in planting a church that is able to multiply; 2) likely to succeed if certain recommendations
are met; or 3) likely not to succeed.
Step 4: Assessment Report Completed
Following the interview, the assessment team leader prepares an Assessment Report that presents the team's findings including a personal development plan and recommended steps the candidate can take to further prepare to plant a church.
Step 5: Assessment Report Review
The team leader phones the candidate to discuss the report. If the candidate has not yet done so, they are invited to participate in CMM's Church-Next Training (CNT). The candidate is also briefed concerning CMM's consulting and coaching services.
